Frequently Asked Question

How long does it take for a research request to be approved?
Last Updated 3 years ago

You can expect an initial response to your research request within a week. Approval depends on, among others, the scientific value of your proposal, the volume of requested data, and the time investment for patients or general practitioners. The final approval will be granted by the ELAN-GP-steering committee. Note that approval does not mean you are immediately granted access to the requested data. After approval you are engaged in an e-mail correspondence with one of our data stewards to negotiate, among others, the means, the timeliness, and the cost of data access. We cannot provide an estimate of the time between approval and data access. In addition, we require an approval from the medical ethical committee, for both WMO (Dutch law regarding Medical and Scientific Research) and non-WMO research.
